These terms and conditions are effective from 01.07.2020 and remain valid until further notice.

These terms and conditions (hereafter “Terms”) apply to the use of the online store operated by Hienopuuseppä Jari Karppinen Tmi (hereafter “Store”) and the purchase of products through it. By purchasing products and using Karppinen Shop, you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them.

Customers

To make purchases in our Store, you must be at least 18 years old and have a permanent delivery address within the Store’s delivery area.

Login and Personal Information

You may browse and use the Store with or without logging in. When purchasing products, we require the following information, which will be stored in our customer register:

• Phone number
• Email address
• Ordered product details
• Any additional information you provide
• Chosen delivery and payment method
• Shipment tracking information
• IP address
• Web browser
• Device

You may also create a customer account to make future purchases faster and easier. You are responsible for keeping your login and password secure and for all purchases made using them.

Use of Personal Information

Your personal data is processed in accordance with applicable laws and our privacy policy. Your data will not be shared with third parties, except where required by law if you act unlawfully or contrary to good practice.

Your information may be used for direct marketing only with your consent.

You have the right to review, modify, or delete your data from our customer register. To make changes, contact: karppinen.shop@gmail.com.

 

Ordering

Place your order by adding products to the shopping cart. At checkout, provide your customer details and select delivery and payment methods. The checkout will display your ordered products, prices, and shipping costs. By clicking “Confirm Order,” you accept the Terms and Privacy Policy. A binding contract is formed when the Store sends an order confirmation.

We strive to ensure product availability, but in rare cases a product may be unavailable. In such cases, we reserve the right not to accept the order and will contact you to find the best solution. If order details are unclear and we cannot contact you, we also reserve the right not to accept the order.

Prices

Prices shown in the Store include VAT. Delivery costs are added according to your chosen delivery method and are displayed in the shopping cart before confirming your order.

Prices and delivery costs are displayed in euros (€). If a clear pricing error occurs, we will contact you, and the product will be sold at the correct price.

For deliveries within the EU, prices include Finnish VAT. For deliveries outside the EU, the recipient is responsible for local taxes, customs duties, and other similar charges.

Delivery (within Finland)

Delivery method: Posti, Matkahuolto etc.

Products are shipped after payment according to payment terms. Delivery is made to the address you provide as a postal package. Products are delivered via a third-party carrier (Pakettipalvelu OY) under a transport agreement, which may affect delivery time. Orders are processed the same or next business day, with normal delivery 7–10 business days. Custom orders have delivery times determined individually.

Pickup points usually hold packages 7–14 days. If you do not collect your package on time, it will be returned, and delivery and handling fees apply.

The Store is not responsible for delays or damages caused by circumstances beyond its control (force majeure), including strikes, official regulations, transport disruptions, or staff illness.

We also deliver internationally. Shipping costs vary by country, and the recipient is responsible for any VAT or customs duties.

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it. The product must be returned immediately after cancellation (within 14 days of the cancellation notice). This right does not apply to products customized or made according to your wishes.

Returned products must be in resaleable condition, including all parts, and packed in the original or equivalent packaging.

Refunds are made to the same payment method used for the order. Shipping costs are refunded only if the reason for the return is a defective product or a merchant-related issue.

Uncollected deliveries are not considered cancellations, and the Store does not accept cash-on-delivery returns.

Free return process in Finland: You will receive a return code depending on the shipping carrier. Label the package “Customer Return” with the code.

Keep your shipping receipt for at least three months.

Errors and Complaints

Check your order immediately for errors. Report missing or defective products immediately: +358 40 5871627 or karppinen.shop@gmail.com.

The Store may first attempt to correct the error. If not possible, the Store may cancel the order. Product images may include compositions of multiple items. Always read product descriptions carefully. Complaints may be rejected if the buyer has not fully read the description.

Payment

Choose Checkout or PayPal for secure payment.

1. Checkout

Checkout Finland Oy handles card and bank payments securely. Payments are transmitted to the merchant. Available bank buttons: Aktia, Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, Oma Säästöpankki, Osuuspankki, POP Bank, S-Pankki, Ålandsbanken.

Card payments: Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Debit MasterCard, American Express. International Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, and American Express SafeKey are used. Card information is not stored in the Store.

Mobile payments: Pivo, MobilePay, Siirto

Invoice and installment services: Checkout offers OP, Collector, Jousto, and AfterPay. Collector also provides business invoices.

2. PayPal

Payments are processed through your PayPal account. A PayPal account is required.

Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Liability for direct damages is limited to the purchase price of the product. These Terms do not limit your statutory rights.

Changes

Hienopuuseppä Jari Karppinen Tmi reserves the right to modify these Terms. Changes will be published in the Store. By using the Store, you accept the changes.

Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution

Finnish law applies.

Disputes are first attempted to be resolved directly. If unresolved, the dispute may be referred to the Consumer Disputes Board or, if necessary, to the Päijät-Häme District Court in Lahti. You may also sue in your local district court.
